|Tom Horn claims that “kosmos” means the “government behind government.” Not so!! According to Strong’s Concordance, “kosmos” means: “orderly arrangement, i.e. decoration; by implication, the world (in a wide or narrow sense, including its inhabitants, literally or figuratively (morally)):--adorning, world.”
Using Horn’s “definition,” look at Matthew 5:14: “Ye are the light of the world [kosmos]” or I Corinthians 1:27-28: “But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world [kosmos] to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world [kosmos] to confound the things that are mighty; And base things of the world [kosmos], and things which are despised, hath God chosen….” Hmmm. God hath chosen the weak things of the “government behind the government” to confound the things that are mighty? II Corinthians 5:19: “…God was in Christ, reconciling the world [kosmos] unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them….” I Timothy 3:16: “…God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world [kosmos], received up into glory.” James 2:5: “Hath not God chosen the poor of this world [kosmos] rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?” Oh yes, the “government behind the government” has been chosen BY GOD to be heirs of His kingdom!! Can you honestly believe Tom Horn’s definition for “kosmos”?
