|The Assistant Secretary
International Human Rights & Anti-Discrimination Branch Attorney-General's Department ACT
Dear Sir or Madam:
I am opposed to the extension of anti-discrimination law, especially that which is based on sexuality and gender identity.
The reason for this is the clearly adverse impact this has of freedom of choice & of religion.
For example why should the Christian Youth Camp on Philip Island be obliged to take in a homosexual group when it sincerely believes that homosexuality is an immoral & harmful lifestyle?
OR Why should a Muslim group be, in any way, obliged to consume alcoholic drinks when they abhor such a practice?
The principle of religious freedom is too precious to be frittered away or compromised.
I urge you not to allow this latest anti-discrimination push.
